RICHMOND, Va. -- A husband and wife were found dead inside their Chamberlayne Avenue home hours after Richmond Police issued a missing persons alert for the Richmond couple.
Sandra Powell-Wyche, 49, and her husband Curtis Wyche, 36, died from gunshot wounds, according to police.
Sandra Powell-Wyche's son Trevon Powell was arrested and charged with homicide and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, a Richmond Police spokesperson wrote in an email.
Detectives found the deceased couple when they searched their home along the 4300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
"Police came and knocked on our door and I was talking to them as they went to the trash cans and looked for blood and stuff," a neighbor told CBS 6 Crime Insider Jon Burkett. "I asked why they were doing it, and they said it's a murder investigation. It shocked me that it happened right here Mr. Burkett. It's crazy. It's crazy."
Sources tell Jon the couple had obvious signs of trauma.
Powell-Wyche had last been seen alive at her job Monday.
Curtis Wyche was last seen Sunday at the Chamberlayne Avenue home.
