Virginia woman who disappeared driving to North Carolina located

MONETA, Va. -- The missing 80-year-old southwest Virginia woman who vanished on her way to North Carolina has been found, according to Virginia State Police.

Sonya Babiy Riche was last seen at 1:30 p.m. leaving her home on Larboard Drive in Moneta, Virginia, according to troopers.

Riche was headed to Cary, North Carolina, officials said.

"She may be in North Carolina but at this time it is unknown," officials said.

"The missing senior suffers from a cognitive impairment and the disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety as determined by the investigating agency," state police officials said.

No additional details were available at last check Sunday.
