Semi crashes closes I-64 east; hazmat crews on scene

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. -- A crash involving a tractor-trailer backed up traffic for five miles on I-64 east in Goochland County Sunday afternoon.

The semi ended up on its side near mile marker 154, which is about two miles east of Hadensville, around 3:30 p.m.

Hazmat crews were on the scene to clean up from the incident.

Officials said no one was injured.

As of 7 p.m., traffic was backed up for five miles and traffic was being diverted to Exit 152., according to VDOT.

"Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes," officials warned. "Expect delays."
