HENRICO COUNTY -- On Thursday, parents will be able to comment on Henrico County Public School's redistricting proposals.
The redistricting update presentations will be at Hermitage High School at 6:30 p.m. Parents will be able to check out poster sized maps of options, as well ask questions.
The redistricting committee recently narrowed down the options to two each for elementary, middle and high schools.
Redistricting plans would be phased in for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years.
During the Feb 27 meeting, some school board members gave insight to their constituents worries about the new plans possibly having a negative impacting on the community when it comes to commute and poverty-stricken areas.
But during that meeting, School Board member Alicia Atkins, reminded everyone in attendance that the county has good schools regardless of where the students could end up attending.
"Redistricting processes is complicated and complex. But May will come, and June will arise, and we will have students walking across the stage to graduate, regardless of what high school they attend," said Atkins.
The School Board is not expected to vote on a plan until May 2020.
