KING GEORGE, Va. -- Authorities are investigating a crash Thursday evening that killed a man on a tractor in rural King George.

Troopers were called to the crash on Route 218 (Tetotum Road) near Route 619 (Good Hope Road) just after 5:15 p.m.

"A Kubota L3750 tractor was stopped in the east bound lane of Route 218 when a 2000 Ford F250 pickup truck, traveling east, struck it," Virginia State Police Public Relations Coordinator Shelby Crouch said. "The Kubota overturned and crossed into the westbound lane where it struck a 2004 Dodge Ram."

The driver of the tractor, 73-year-old Roy A. Fenwick Jr. of King George, died at the scene, state police said.

The driver of the Ford pickup as well as the driver and a passenger in the Dodge pickup were transported to an area hospital, Crouch said.

Officials said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
