Teen killed in Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- A Richmond teenager has died from a gunshot wound following Thursday night shooting.

Around 8:23 p.m., Richmond Police responded to the 2100 block of Redd Street for a report of a person shot.

Once on scene officers found a teenager suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett the victim was a middle school student.

He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

The medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
