RICHMOND, Va. -- Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man they say robbed a South Richmond convenience store Friday morning.

Officers were called to the Fas Mart at 5200 Hull Street Road just before 4:40 a.m.

"When officers arrived on scene, the store clerk stated the business was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown suspect," police said.

The suspect demanded money before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash, officers said.

No one was injured, according to police.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 35-year-old male, about 5 feet 8 to to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build.

"He was last seen wearing a blue disposable face mask, a black beanie under a black hooded jacket, black pants, dark-colored shoes, and clear disposable gloves," officers said. "He also had a white towel folded up underneath his arm."

Anyone with information that could help police is urged to call Second Precinct Detective S. Eacho at 804-646-8171 or contact Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000. The P3 Tips Crime Stoppers app for smartphones may also be used. All Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
