RICHMOND, Va. -- While some folks chose not to decorate for Halloween this year, a couple in Richmond’s historic Museum District said there was no way they could pass up the opportunity.
Chris and Meghan Vandette’s home on Floyd Avenue was dubbed the “spookiest house” with its freak show theme.
Chris, who graduated from VCU’s Brand Center, built a lot of the decorations, including the ticket booth, the wack-a-skull game and the spinning wheel of doom.
“This year, everyone's gone through a rough year for various reasons, so we just really wanted to put something out there that's over the top and make people happy and smile,” Chris said.
It took the couple about a month to create the scary circus, but they said seeing the smiles from everyone who walks by made all the hard work worth it.
And the Vandettes said they already have a long list of ideas for next Halloween.
