Police seek man in armed robbery of Chesterfield Sheetz

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect who robbed a Sheetz convenience store in Chesterfield County early Thursday morning.

Police say the robbery occurred at the Sheetz located at 20 S. Providence Road at about 5:13 a.m.

Investigators say the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

"The suspect then went behind the counter and took cash. Two customers attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect fled on foot toward a nearby Super 8 Motel," said a police spokesperson.

The suspect is described as a Black male, about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and about 145-160 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt, a blue ballcap, black pants and a white cloth covering his face. He had a silver handgun.
