Police identify man who suffered medical emergency before fatal crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police have identified a Chesterfield man who is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before a fatal crash Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the crash occurred in the 2700 block of Old Gunn Road West at about 4 p.m.

Police said a 2018 Dodge work van, driven by 37-year-old Jeremy C. Dunn, was leaving a residence when it struck a mailbox, crossed the roadway, went into a ditch, traveled up an embankment and struck a vehicle on private property.

Dunn was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say their investigation indicates Dunn suffered a medical emergency at the time of the crash.
