Police identify Caroline man killed in fiery crash

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. -- Virginia State Police have identified a Caroline County man killed in a fiery crash Monday morning.

State police say the single-vehicle crash occurred in the 2600 block of Ruther Glen Road at approximately 6:30 a.m.

A Nissan Versa was traveling north on Ruther Glen Road when it ran off the road, struck a tree and caught fire, according to police.

The driver, Nathaniel Lawhorn, 29, of Caroline County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
