HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A person in a wheelchair was killed while trying to cross West Broad Street in Henrico’s West End early Saturday morning, according to police.
Investigators said the victim was trying to cross the road near Emorywood Drive when they were hit by a passing car around 12:10 a.m.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, died at the scene, according to police.
Police said the driver stopped and was cooperative.
Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash, according to police.
Henrico's Crash Team is investigating.
