CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – One man was killed, another arrested early Monday morning in Chesterfield.
Police were called to a home along the 17300 block of Genito Road in Moseley at about 1 a.m. for a report of an inadvertent shooting.
"The victim, identified as Roy K. Long Jr., 34, of the 17300 block of Genito Road, was transported to an area hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. "Jamieson P. Miller, 23, of the 17300 block of Genito Road, has been arrested and charged with felony reckless handling of a firearm in relation to the shooting."
It appeared both Long and Miller were handling the gun when it fired, police said.
