One killed after colliding with tree in Hanover crash

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Hanover County on Wednesday.

Around 7:49 a.m., the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 15500 block of Mountain Road for a single-vehicle crash into a tree.

A Chevrolet sedan was eastbound on Mountain Road, east of Saint Peters Church Road, when it drove off the right side of the highway.

Police believe that the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove off the right side of the highway, and crashed into a tree. The driver was pronounced dead on-scene.

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office/Division of Forensic Science.
