Missing man with dementia found safe

UPDATE: Woodrow Elery Dillard has been located safe.

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. – The Louisa County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in locating 57-year-old Woodrow “Woody” Elery Dillard.

Dillard was last seen at 1:39 p.m. on April 14, 2020, leaving UVA Hospital after a six-week hospitalization. Officials say he is known to suffer from dementia and depression.

He is described as an African American man 5’9” tall and 235 pounds with black “bushy” hair and black eyes. He also has a blue rose tattoo on his left arm.

Dillard was last seen wearing blue jeans, black boots and a black “Kangol” style hat.

Officials say Dillard is from Charlottesville and is known to frequent the Salvation Army Shelter, Reid’s Supermarket, and the areas of Cherry Avenue and Washington Park.
