Police ID man found shot to death in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have released the name of a man found shot to death in Richmond's East End Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Phaup Street for the report of a shooting at approximately 1:24 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Marcellus Taylor with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death," a police department spokesperson said.

Officials said detectives are "following up on several leads," but still need the public's help.
