Man found shot to death in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have launched a death investigation after a man was found shot to death Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Phaup Street for the report of a shooting at approximately 1:24 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The Major Crimes division’s detectives are investigating the shooting.
