Man arrested in fatal stabbing on Chesterfield porch

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a fatal stabbing on a Chesterfield County porch.

On February 10, officers responded to a home in the 7200 block of Cherry Hill Park Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located 33-year-old Jamar R. Golightly who was unconscious and had been stabbed. Golightly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carl A. Wilkins, 30, of the 7200 block of Cherry Hill Park Avenue, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Police say their investigation indicates that a verbal altercation occurred prior to the stabbing and that Golightly and Wilkins were known to each other.

Wilkins is currently being held in the Chesterfield County Jail pending a court appearance.
