Human remains found in Virginia woods identified as missing woman

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. -- Human remains found in a heavily wooded area of King William County have been identified as those of a woman who was reported missing in September.

The remains were found by Hunters in a heavily wooded area on El Sassar Rd. and identified as those of 55-year-old Farran Braxton, who was declared missing in September 2019 after leaving her residence on Union Hope Road.

The King William Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate Braxton's disappearance and is awaiting an official cause of death.
