How you can watch ceremony to celebrate 75 years since end of WWII

NORFOLK, Va. -- Wednesday, September 2 marks the 75th anniversary of the official end of World War II and Virginia is paying tribute with a statewide ceremony on land and sea.

Virginia’s World War I and World War II Commemoration Commission will hold a ceremony on the deck of the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin in Norfolk.

The Wisconsin is the same type of battleship that the Japanese surrendered on September 2, 1945.

CBS 6's Greg McQuade will host the event from the deck of the battleship.

WWII Veterans across Virginia will be watching the live-streamed ceremony.

Navy jets will also perform a flyover at at 9:08 a.m., the exact minute of the surrender 75 years ago.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
