RICHMOND, Va. -- Seeing outer space without leaving your place. That’s what the Science Museum of Virginia is offering with its latest virtual show.

Beginning May 21, the museum’s astronomer, Justin Bartel, will offer a free weekly live astronomy show on the museum’s Facebook page.

The show will give curious-minded guests of all ages the chance to keep up with discoveries, milestones, launches and landings happening in space this summer.

“Using the same advanced technology system from the planetarium, the half-hour long virtual program will include the flying-through-space exploration guests experienced in the Dome, just on a smaller screen and from the comfort of their own home,” officials said in a release.

The live shows will air weekly on Thursdays at 2 p.m. There is no registration required.

Each program will last approximately 30 minutes.
