HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico woman is a half a million dollars richer all because of an headache.
Olga Ritchie says that headache brought her to Tony’s Market at 3714 Mechanicsville Turnpike to pick up some headache powder.
While she was there, she decided to buy a Mega Money ticket.
“Turns out it was just my lucky day!” Ritchie said with a laugh.
After returning home, Ritchie scratched the ticket and discovered she’d just won the game’s $500,000 top prize.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes!” she remembered. “I almost fainted!”
Ritchie, who has worked at the same place for 42 years, said she plans to save her winnings towards retirement and update her house.
The odds of winning the top prize in Mega Money are 1 in 489,600, while the odds of winning any prize in this game are 1 in 3.39.
