RICHMOND, Va. -- HCA Virginia is offering a new service amid the pandemic for anyone who needs help navigating changes to their insurance coverage.

The network of healthcare providers opened a hotline to answer questions about anything from how to continue coverage through your employer if you recently lost your job, to navigating the healthcare exchange website or determining Medicaid eligibility.

“There are people who are well versed in all the different types of insurances,” said Dr. William Lunn, the Chief Executive Officer for Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals. “The advisers answering these calls are with HCA Financial Group and have that knowledge of how to get coverage for you or your family.”

Dr. Lunn points to the high unemployment rates and uncertainty many Americans are facing as part of HCA’s motivation in establishing the hotline.

“Our mission is that, above all else, we're committed to the care and improvement of human life,” said Dr. Lunn. “HCA thought, ‘how can we respond to this as a company?’ And one way was to make sure that people had access to health care and that they also didn't find that it was a financial worry for them.”

The hotline at (833) 867-8771 is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. It is a free service intended to offer advice and guidance, but is not affiliated with any insurance company or selling insurance plans. Click here to request a call from HCA’s insurance experts.
