Police ID 16-year-old boy killed in Ettrick shooting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Authorities have released the name of a 16-year-old boy killed in a shooting at an Ettrick apartment complex Saturday night.

Chesterfield Police were called to a home in the the 4000 block of Hickory Road near the University Apartments at Ettrick for a report of a male that had been shot.

When officer's arrived, they found the body of Eric Allen Reid, of the 4100 block of Hickory Road, according to police.

“Right now we are looking for a suspect, but we do not have much information to put out at this point because it just occurred,” Lt. Mike Breden with Chesterfield Police said Saturday night. “We don't feel like the public is in any type of dangers because this is an isolated incident.”

No arrests have been made.

Officers said their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
