Police ID man killed in Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a shooting in Richmond's East End Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Ford Avenue after reports that a person was shot just before 1:20 p.m., according to Richmond Police.

Once on scene, officers found a man who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim was identified as 31-year-old Dominic Thompson of Richmond.

No suspect information nor additional details were available at last check.
