Deputies seek clues after skeletal remains found in Spotsylvania woods

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help after human skeletal remains were discovered in the woods in Spotsylvania County.

Deputies with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office discovered the remains of an adult black male in the wooded area in the 10000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway on Friday, Jan. 31.

“The above-pictured items were located at the scene,”officials posted on Facebook Wednesday.

The items included a yellow hardhat, black Nikes and a Navy Columbia jacket.
