Death investigation underway after man found on side of Henrico road with injuries

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police are asking for the community for help in a death investigation after a man was found lying on the side of a Henrico road.

On Sunday, July 12, officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bolling Road, E. Laburnum Avenue, for the report of a man lying on the side of the roadway at 9 p.m.

When officers arrived to the scene, police say a man was found suffering from injuries to his face, head, and back.

The man, identified as 42-year-old Bobby Levell Jefferson, of Henrico County, was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries the next day.

"Henrico police need the community's assistance to bring closure to the family and this incident," said a Henrico Police spokesperson. "Right now, this is a death investigation until detectives get more information from you."
