ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. -- A tractor-trailer driver was charged with reckless driving after his truck overturned on Route 460 Monday morning.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 460, near Route 638 in Isle of Wight, were closed, according to Virginia State Police spokesperson Sgt. Michelle Anaya.
“At approximately 8:33 a.m., Virginia State Police were called to investigate an overturned tractor-trailer in the eastbound lanes of Route 460, west of Cut Thru Road, in Isle of Wight County,” Anaya wrote. “The driver of a 2020 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer ran off the roadway and overturned. The tractor-trailer was hauling the corrosive material, Liquid Aluminum Sulfate. The hazmat material had not spilled, however, the truck itself had leaked between 75-100 gal of diesel fuel.”
The driver, identified as Arrick H. Chaffin of Nottoway, Virginia, was not hurt.
