HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Henrico Police have reunited a boy named Alexander with his family.

The three-year-old child was found walking along 400 block of Dabbs House Road Sunday at about 5:30 a.m.

"He is wearing the pajamas you see in this picture and even put on his shoes before going on his morning walk away from home," Lt. M. C. Pecka with a Henrico Police said. "Police have canvassed the area, but are looking for the parents or guardians of this young boy so he can get back home."

Alexander was checked out and is physically unharmed.

"Officers were able to enjoy pancakes with Alexander this morning while others worked to find family," Pecka wrote at 9:46 a.m. "I just received word police and family are reunited."

Thanks to all who helped spread the word on social media.

Police called the shares and the overall reach into our community amazing.

"Together, as a community we were able to reunite this young man back with his family," Pecka said.
