Four people sent to hospital, including police officer, in early Sunday fire

CHESTERFIELD, Va. β€” Four people, including a police officer, were sent to a hospital for treatment after an early Sunday fire.

Chesterfield firefighters said they were called around 3:45 a.m. on February 1, to Dunbrook Road. Crews witnessed smoke coming from the second story apartment, and a fire inside.

Three people there were sent to a hospital for injuries, according to crews. One of them has life-threatening injuries, reportedly. In addition, a police officer was also treated for smoke inhalation.

Crews said three dogs died in the fire.

The cause is not clear, yet.
