HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- As the demand for COVID-19 testing grows, many private companies are working to develop tests that will give results faster, including a Glen Allen based lab.
Bill Miller, the CEO Glen Allen based Genetworx, said that the test his company has developed can deliver results in 24 hours.
"When the Coronavirus started we were well positioned to lend a hand, so we diverted a number of our personnel to make sure we could meet that need," Miller said.
The company began working on it two weeks ago, using the guidelines laid out by the CDC and FDA.
Genetworx is working with hospitals, physicians groups and local government agencies and and all the tests will be performed at Genetworx's lab.
