PETERSBURG, Va. -- A 9-year-old girl was shot while lying in her bed at a Petersburg apartment complex Thursday night.
Police said the child was shot in the arm in her bedroom at the Croatan apartments in the 2300 block of Navajo Court around 9 p.m.
Police believe the child was hit by a stray bullet from a gun battle in the parking lot.
The child suffered minor injuries, , according to police.
No arrests have been made in the case.
