RICHMOND, Va. -- The “RVA Weekend of Action” wrapped up with the “5,000 FED” drive-thru event at John Marshall High School Saturday afternoon.

Anyone from Metro Richmond was able to come by to pick up fresh food, hot meals, essential items and register to vote.

The Team Loaded Foundation and Mission from the Heart were among the organizations.

One volunteer said the event was about being committed to investing in your own community.

“I work with a lot of the youth here in Richmond city, so just being able to give to them and their families in such a trying time is what matters most,” one man said.

A mother won a car, which was raffled at the event, and also scored money to help with insurance and upkeep.
