15-year-old boy charged with murdering Richmond father

RICHMOND, Va. -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with the murder of a Richmond man, according to Richmond Police.

The teenager's name was not released due to his age.

"Around 10 p.m. August 17, 2020, officers responded to the 4600 block of Southwood Parkway and found Olvin J. Portillo-Archaga with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died," a Richmond Police spokesperson said.

Portillo-Archaga, according to a GoFundMe page, was a father of two.

In addition to first-degree murder, the 15-year-old suspect was also charged with robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18.
