CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- One person was killed, one person was hurt, and one person is in police custody following a crash Monday morning in Chesterfield.

A vehicle crashed into a tree and overturned on Kingston Avenue at about 9:07 a.m., according to Chesterfield Police.

"One of the passengers in the vehicle was ejected and died as a result of those injuries," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin."
