1 injured after car crashes into disabled vehicle on I-95 in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- State police are investigating a crash along I-95 north in Chesterfield County Saturday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital.

Troopers said a VDOT Safety Service Patrol was helping a disabled motorist when another car struck that vehicle along the interstate’s shoulder near the exit for Route 288.

The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to catch fire, according to troopers.

Officials said one victim was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment.

There was no update on that person’s condition at last check Sunday evening.

There was also no word if charges will be filed in connection to the crash.
