ESSEX COUNTY, Va. – Three people are seriously injured after a vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree, then overturned in Essex County Wednesday evening.
Virginia State Police said at approximately 6:55 p.m., they responded to a single-vehicle crash around the 700 block of Supply Road.
State Police said their preliminary investigation reveals a 2004 Jeep SUV, occupied by three people, was traveling east on Supply Rd., ran off road right striking a tree and then overturning.
One passenger was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, and second passenger were transported by Med Flight to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries.
State Police said all occupants in the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and alcohol is being considered a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
