RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have arrested three people who led officers on a police chase that started in South Richmond and ended on the city’s Northside Thursday night.

Investigators said the chase started in Westover Hills around 8:57 p.m. The suspects were wanted for a reported robbery.

Police said one of the suspect drove a copper Infinity SUV through Forest Hill Avenue, Chippenham Parkway, and Laburnum Ave.

The pursuit came to an end off W. Laburnum and Lanvale Ave. The suspects ditched the vehicle on the side of the road and fled on foot.

Investigators used K-9 units and helicopters to help locate the suspects who were apprehended on Mable Shade Lane.

Two men and one female were taken into police custody and loaded in the back of a paddy wagon.

There is no word on their charges at this time.

Police sources tell CBS 6 the suspects may be linked to a carjacking and robbery of a Richmond Times Dispatch worker in the West End early Wednesday morning.

The three suspects in that case allegedly robbed and carjacked a newspaper delivery driver in the 4700 block of Bromley Lane. They suspects ultimately ditched the car during a police chase and escaped apprehension.
