Controversial Ryan Lochte coming to Richmond for Wizard World Comic Con

RICHMOND, Va. – Professional swimmer and 12-time Olympic medalist, Ryan Lochte, is coming to Richmond for an upcoming Comic Con event at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

Lochte is scheduled to appear at the Wizard World Comic Con on Saturday, September 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lochte will take photos and sign autographs with fans at the event. Autographs will be free for a limited amount of fans and photo ops will cost $50.

Lochte is a 4-time Olympian, who recently competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In Rio, Lochte won gold along with Henrico’s Townley Haas, Michael Phelps, and Connor Dwyer in the Men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.

The 6-time Olympic gold medalist also received International attention and disgrace after an incident at a Rio gas station on August 14.

Lochte has been charged in Rio for falsely reporting a crime after he said he was robbed at gunpoint.

He also recently lost high-profile sponsors including, Speedo and Ralph Lauren, in the wake of the incident.

The Wizard World Comic Con will be in Richmond from Friday, September 9 to Sunday, September 11. The Comic Con celebrates the best in pop culture, from movies, TV, comics, toys, wrestling, and more.

  • Friday, Sept 9, 2016 – 3pm – 8pm
  • Saturday, Sept 10, 2016 – 10am – 7pm
  • Sunday, Sept 11, 2016 – 10am – 4pm

Other celebrity guests at the event will include Gene Simmons, WWE Superstars, Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles, Joey Fatone of NSYNC, and many more.
