HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Officials are offering free water to residents without power in Henrico County beginning Saturday morning.

Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said the water will be available beginning at 8 a.m. at Firehouse 2 at 2400 Darbytown Road and Firehouse 16 at 5831 Shady Grove Road.

Residents are asked to bring their own containers.

"The free service will continue daily until power has been restored to residents countywide," Eley said.

A powerful line of storms that triggered tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings across Central Virginia Thursday night downed trees and knocked out power to more than 170,000. By Friday afternoon, 135,000 power outages still remained, the bulk in Henrico and Richmond.
