Lanes reopen after multiple crashes shutdown I-295

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — All lanes of Interstate 295 south in Prince George have reopened after they were all closed Thursday morning due to multiple crashes, according to VDOT.

At least one person was flown to the hospital as a result of the crashes. That person’s condition has not yet been released.

The cause of the crashes remains under investigation.

Several lanes of Interstate 295 reopened by 6 a.m.

The area impacted by the crashes and lane closures was near Route 36 (mile marker 10). Also, the ramp from Rt. 36 east to I-295 south is closed.
