RICHMOND, Va. -- A woman who was found shot in a home near the intersection of North 29th and Y Street has died.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital just before midnight Thursday. She was not identified, pending notification of next-of-kin.
Police were called to the 1800 block of North 29th street for a report of a shooting just before 11 Thursday night. That area is near Creighton Court. They went inside the home and found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

This is the city’s 16th murder of the year, compared to four at this time last year.
Police did not release details on a possible suspect or motive.
