APPOMATTOX, Va.—An Appomattox County man is in jail without bond after police said he raped a teenage girl who he brought to Virginia.

Edward E. Anderson, 28, was arrested by Virginia State Police on charges of abduction with intent to defile, statutory rape, object sexual penetration and possession of child pornography.

Police said he abducted and raped a 14-year-old Missouri girl that he met online and brought to his residence in the Spout Springs area of Appomattox County.

She was held against her will at this location and was recovered on Christmas Day.

The 14-year-old victim was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital. She has since been reunited with her family in Missouri.

Anderson met the girl online and traveled to Missouri to meet her, on Dec. 22, 2015.

The two then drove to Appomattox County. The 14-year-old was able to text a family member Dec. 25, 2015.

The family member then contacted state police.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.

Anderson is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
