CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A man and a child were hurt when their van collided with a Chesterfield school bus Friday morning.

“A school bus was traveling down Whitepine Road toward Courthouse Road when a van, which was attempting to make a left at Belmont Road, pulled in front of the bus,” Chesterfield Police spokeswoman Liz Caroon said. “There were no children on the bus. The bus hit the van.”

The man and child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man was issued a summons for failure to yield right of way.

The crash was reported at about 7:20 a.m.
