CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- More than 1,300 Dominion Virginia Power customers lost power Monday when a vehicle crashed into a power pole near Salem Church and Beulah roads, according to Chesterfield Police. While most homes had power restored within hours of the 2:15 a.m. crash, roads remain closed to allow power crews to repair damaged equipment.

Salem Church Road at Kingsland Road and Beulah Road at Summerleaf Road could be closed through the noon hour, police said.

The condition of the person involved in the crash has not yet been released. The cause of the crash remained under investigation. This is a developing story.
