Group knocks out man trying to help assault victim on VCU campus

RICHMOND, Va. — The VCU Police Department is looking for three suspects and two witnesses connected to two assaults that occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 12, 2015.

Detectives shared pictures hoping for help identifying the male suspects and female witnesses in the photos below.

On Sept. 12, at 3:10 a.m., witnesses reported observing an assault in progress on one man on the 400 block of North Harrison Street.

When a bystander intervened to help the man, he too was physically assaulted by two other males and briefly lost consciousness. No weapons were mentioned or displayed during the assaults.

VCU Police detectives believe that all three men in the photos were involved in the assaults.
