HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- Last week CBS 6 told you about Annabelle Bishop, the three-year-old fighting a rare disease that forces her to be fed through a tube.
Last week, the community raised money for the family at an event hosted by The Guilty Ones Motorcycle Club. The funds were to help the Bishops on their trip to a hospital in Cincinnati.
"She truly is amazing. She has brought Sherrington together as a whole," said neighbor Lanette Mckinney.
After spending the week in Ohio, the family returned back to Hanover on Friday.
To welcome them home, McKinney and others decided to surprise Annabelle and her family by decorating their house.
"We have about 40 cards that kids have made which is pretty amazing," said McKinney.
CBS 6 was also there when Annabelle and her mother landed at the Hanover County Airport.
"We got started while we were there, we did a lot of tests and procedures," said Ashley Bishop, Annabelle's mother.
Annabelle also underwent surgery and met with special doctors.
"We have a doctor who spoke to us and spoke the most logic I've heard in three years, and understood her like the back of his hand," said Bishop.
To top off the homecoming, Lanette also surprised them with a limo for the ride back home with Annabelle's friends from The Guilty Ones Motorcycle Club following right behind her.
