RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are looking for two males suspects following a Wednesday morning shooting at the Morningside Apartments in South Richmond. The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with what police called a non-life threatening injury.
The incident began as a breaking and entering and attempted robbery when someone attempted to enter an apartment through a back door, police said. The shooting victim was inside the apartment when he was shot. A number of 911 calls indicated the shooting happened at about 6:30 a.m.
A police forensic unit was seen responding to the apartments along the 5700 block of Thorndale Lane after a shooting was reported.
Thorndale Lane runs through the Morningside Apartments complex between Jahnke Road and Forest Hill Avenue.
Police described the suspects as black males, but were unable to provide additional descriptive details at this time. Anyone with information that can help police can call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
