RICHMOND, Va. – Huguenot High School is now on "modified lockdown" after a report of a person with a gun near the school Wednesday afternoon.
Richmond police said officers were dispatched just after noon for a report of a person with a gun spotted near the campus.
However, officers said they found nothing when they checked the scene and also searched inside the school. As a result, the all-clear was given around 1:20 p.m.
Police said the school would remain on "modified lockdown," which means all the exterior doors will remain locked and students and staff must not exit the building, for the rest of the day.
Richmond Public Schools officials said classes will be dismissed on time.
