HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Police arrested a 20-year-old woman in connection to a fatal shooting in eastern Henrico. Daisha Clora Woodruff, of Art Avenue, was charged with second-degree murder, according to Henrico County Police online arrest records. Woodruff was arrested May 18.
Police were called to the 5200 block of Art Avenue, off Darbytown Road, on May 14 to investigate a fatal shooting. That night at around 9 p.m., police found a man’s body behind an Art Avenue home. The man was later identified as David Overton Agurs, 27, of Richmond.
“Additionally, detectives have charged Ramann L. Harris, 26, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon relating to the murder of David Agurs,” Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said.
Police have not yet released details about a motive in the murder, nor a connection between the suspects and the victim. Second-degree murder is generally defined as an intentional killing that was not planned or a death caused by dangerous conduct. Early in the investigation, police said the crime did not appear to be random.
"This is a bit unusual for this type of crime to happen here," Henrico Police spokesman Capt. Linda Toney said the day after the murder. "It is usually a quiet area. I can only imagine how the residents feel."
